Essay 2 Rhetorical Analysis #2

This time, you are choosing an essay that you DO NOT AGREE with.

Please connect the essay to today. If it is not relative to you today, then it is very difficult to prove your claim.

Step 1: Read the following essays

Pages 78-83; Man's Nature is Good by Mencius

Pages 84-93; Man's Nature is Evil by Hsun Tzu

Pages 123-133; A Thing Like Me by Carr

Pages 134-144; Thinking Fast and Slow by Kahneman

Step 2: Select one of the essays whose thesis you adamantly disagree with for your second essay.

Step 3: Reread that essay and find at least 5 points that make you disagree with this writer. As you read, connect the essay to the world today.

Step 4: Write an argumentative essay, persuading readers to also agree with your thesis, thus rebuking the thesis of the original essay.
